Study Title: Survey of Sexual Relationships
 
Study Purpose and Rationale
The purpose of this study is to gain better insight into friends with benefits and romantic relationships by investigating important, previously unexplored aspects, such as personality traits, one’s perceived desirably as a partner, sexual satisfaction, and feminist/egalitarian beliefs.
 
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria
To be eligible to participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years of age and currently involved in either a friends with benefits relationship or a romantic relationship.
 
Participation Procedures and Duration
Should you choose to participate, you will be directed to a survey pertaining to the relationship type that you selected. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. During this time, you will be asked various questions pertaining to your thoughts, feelings, sexual behavior, and basic demographic information, such as age and gender.

Data Confidentiality or Anonymity
All data will be collected anonymously. You will not be asked to provide personally identifying information and we will not collect IP addresses or any other information that could potentially be used to identify you.
 
Storage of Data
All data collected through this study will be stored indefinitely on a secure database or secure devices that will only be accessible by the principal and co-investigators of this research. The final data (which are anonymous and cannot be traced back to specific individuals) will be held indefinitely in order to allow for future review and re-analysis.

Risks or Discomforts
The only anticipated risk from participating in this study is that you may not feel comfortable answering some of the questions. You may choose not to answer any question that makes you uncomfortable and you may quit the study at any time. You may benefit from your participation by contributing to general scientific knowledge as well as by reflecting on various elements of your own relationship.
 
Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you are free to withdraw your permission at any time for any reason, or choose not to answer any question without penalty or prejudice from the investigators.
